Music Technology

The Music Technology program provides an overview of the music technology and audio hardware and software, including basic operating principles terminology, and real-world applications. The course will also cover the fundamentals of music technology and audio production, such as signal processing, system operation, and other core topics.

Additional Course Information:

Music Technology I is available for students in grades 11 and 12.  

Music Technology II provides an overview of theory and usage of audio equipment to produce recordings and provide sound reinforcement for live events.  Students will also be able to grasp the application of informed musical judgment for the music production process.  Music Technology II is available to senior students only.

prerequisite:

  • Grade:  11 or 12
  • CTC Application Process
  • GPA 2.5 or higher and recommendation from Principal or Counselor OR GPA 3.0 or higher with no recommendation

Dual enrollment:

  • Music Technology I:  2 college hours - University of Central Missouri (UCM)
  • MUS 1480 Introduction to Music Technology
  • Music Technology II:  3 college hours - University of Central Missouri (UCM)
  • MUS 2400 Sound Reinforcement and Music Production
  • This is a dual enrollment class.  Enrollment through cooperating college is required.

Fees:

  • $99 per college credit hour
  • Student will be billed/paid through the cooperating college business office
