Dear CIC Community,

We hope everyone had a great winter break and Happy New Year! As we launch into the second half of the school year, I am excited to introduce our weekly newsletter—a resource designed to keep both students and parents informed, connected, and engaged. Each week, you’ll receive a brief snapshot of what’s happening across our programs, from hands-on classroom experiences to special events, guest speakers, and project highlights. Our goal is to celebrate the incredible work students are doing while keeping you up to date on important opportunities and campus activities.

In addition to sharing updates, this newsletter will also serve as a central hub for essential information, including upcoming deadlines, career exploration resources, community partnerships, and ways families can support student success. We want you to feel informed and empowered as your student continues to grow their skills and discover future pathways. Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to an inspiring and productive semester ahead at the Career Innovation Center!

Project Management Students Earn Certification

Students enrolled in the Project Management program at the Career Innovation Center have achieved a major milestone this semester, earning their Project Management Ready certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI). The achievement was made possible through a partnership with the University of Central Missouri (UCM), providing high‑school students with college‑aligned career preparation and industry‑recognized credentials. For many students, the Project Management Ready certification marks their first experience earning an industry credential—an accomplishment that boosts confidence as much as it strengthens résumés.

BSSD Welcomes Alumni Back for Aspiring Teacher Conference

The Blue Springs School District proudly hosted its Aspiring Teacher Conference on January 9, 2026, welcoming alumni who are pursuing careers in education. Held at the BSSD Central Office, the event featured presentations from district leaders, networking with current Introduction to Teaching students, a lunch-and-learn with Human Resources, and visits to classrooms across the district. The conference gave former students an opportunity to reconnect with BSSD, explore student‑teaching pathways, and learn how they can launch their teaching careers.

Clinicals Complete—Certification, Here We Come!

Our Health Science Advanced seniors have officially completed their 100 clinical hours! They gained real-world experience assisting patients and practicing essential care skills. Next up: the CNA exam later this semester. We’re proud of their hard work and excited for what’s ahead!

CIC First-Ever Blood Drive

We’re thrilled to announce the very first CIC Blood Drive, a special opportunity for our school community to come together and save lives. Let’s make this inaugural event one to remember!

Students and staff are invited to make a lifesaving impact at the CIC Blood Drive on January 26, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the One Room Schoolhouse (1801 NW Vesper St., Blue Springs, MO).
Every donation can help up to three people, and giving blood is a simple way to boost your well-being while supporting our community.
