CIC Launches Inaugural Blood Drive to Support Community Health

A New Annual Initiative Aims to Inspire Lifesaving Participation Among Students and Staff

Step Up, Show Up, Save Lives.

The CIC is excited to host its first-ever Blood Drive, marking an important new tradition for our students, staff, and community. This inaugural event represents a meaningful opportunity for everyone on campus to come together in service of a shared mission—saving lives. Whether you’re a first-time donor or a seasoned participant, your contribution can make a profound difference. In fact, a single donation has the power to help up to three individuals in need, turning a simple act of kindness into a life-changing gift.

The blood drive will take place on January 26, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the One Room Schoolhouse, located at 1801 NW Vesper St. in Blue Springs. Participants are encouraged to prepare by staying hydrated, getting a full night’s rest, and dressing comfortably. Donors under the age of 16 will need parental consent. Supported by the Community Blood Center in partnership with the BSSD Career Innovation Center, the event is designed to be a welcoming and impactful experience for everyone involved.

As we launch this new initiative, we invite all students and staff to step forward and help make our first year a success. By giving just a small moment of your time, you can help fill a critical need in our region and inspire others to do the same.
