As a proud member of the CAPS Network, our school is part of a nationally recognized model that empowers students through profession‑based learning, real‑world industry experiences, and personalized skill development. Being part of this network provides our students with extraordinary opportunities to explore career pathways, build durable professional skills, and discover their passions long before graduation. The results of this transformational model were made even more clear today with the release of the 2025 CAPS Alumni Impact Report.
The 2025 report reveals powerful insights into how CAPS programs shape students’ futures. Three major themes stand out:
1. CAPS Alumni Significantly Outperform Peers in Earnings
The data shows that former CAPS students outpace their peers in early‑career earnings, demonstrating the tangible value of gaining real‑world experience and professional mentorship while still in high school. CAPS experiences help students enter college and the workforce with clarity, confidence, and competitive advantage.
2. Alumni Report Exceptional Growth in Professional, Durable Skills
Students credit CAPS with helping them build the professional skills that employers value most—skills such as:
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Adaptability
- Critical thinking
- Professionalism
These “durable skills” set CAPS graduates apart and prepare them for long‑term success in any field they pursue.
3. Alumni Express Deep, Positive Emotion About Their CAPS Experience
One of the most striking findings in the report comes directly from students’ reflections. When alumni describe their CAPS experience, one word emerges more than any other: “love.”
They express deep appreciation for the relationships they formed, the real‑world work they completed, and the confidence they gained. Many describe CAPS as the moment when school became meaningful and motivating.
A Catalyst for Local Growth and Student Success
This year’s report reinforces what we see every day in our own school: CAPS works.
It prepares students academically, professionally, and personally—giving them an early edge in their future careers and helping them discover what drives them.
CAPS leadership shared, “The outcomes showcased in this report would not be possible without the dedication and innovation of educators and partners across the network. We are just getting started.”
And here at Career Innovation Center, we’re proud to be part of that growing momentum.
