This introductory course provides students with a comprehensive overview of commercial baking, offering unique experiences and the opportunity to bring their culinary creations to life. Students will produce a variety of pastries and baked goods for a student-run coffee shop, gaining hands on experience in a real-world commercial kitchen setting. The course emphasizes precision, creativity, and consistency in baking techniques, while also introducing students to the business side of food service operations. Through collaborative projects and production schedules, students will develop time management, teamwork, and customer service skills essential for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. This semester long course meets for 2 periods each day.
