Culinary Arts is a fast-paced, 2-year program designed to prepare students for personal and professional success. Technical skills (knife skills, cooking method and techniques, baking basics, guest serving, farm to table sustainability), Academic Skills (literacy, math, science), and Work Ethic Skills (accountability, sense of urgency, self-management, interpersonal skills) are integrated and practiced daily. Driven by authentic projects, this class allows students to work with a team designing and executing simple to complex menus and events. Students will also have the opportunity to earn their ServSafe Manager certification. Various academic, work ethic and professional development principles are taught and practiced throughout the year. All program goals and practices have an emphasis on career and college preparation. First-year seniors are considered with available space.
