Introduction to Health Professions

This introductory course provides students with a broad overview of the healthcare industry and the diverse career opportunities within it.  Students will explore key areas such as nursing, medical assisting, pharmacy, physical therapy, dental care, and emergency medical services (EMS).  Emphasis is placed on developing foundational knowledge, professional skills, and an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of healthcare workers.  Students will participate in hands-on activities and may have opportunities to interact with healthcare professionals through guest speakers or site visits.  This course prepares students for advanced health science courses and helps build a foundation for future study or employment in the healthcare field.  This semester long course meets for 2 periods each day.
